- Zaytuna College Islam has never become rooted in a particular land until that land began producing its own religious scholars. There are several million Muslims in the United States and rapidly growing Muslim populations in Canada, Great Britain, and Western Europe. Yet, there are no accredited academic institutions capable of training students in the varied sciences of Islam, while also instilling in them a sophisticated understanding of the intellectual history and culture of the West. Clearly, there is an essential need for Muslim institutions that can wed Islam’s classical texts with the contemporary context.
- The Quba Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies is a corollary of the International Muslim Brotherhood, Inc. The International Muslim Brotherhood was established in 1949. It is the oldest indigenous Muslim Organization/Masjid in Philadelphia. From as far back as 1967, when the first Adult Islamic Educational Programs were established, this masjid has been at the forefront of Islamic education.
- Zaytuna Institute is a non-profit, educational institute and school founded and run by people committed to reviving time-tested methods of educating and transforming human beings. The Institute was founded in 1996 by Hamza Yusuf and Dr. Hesham Alalusi and incorporated in California as a non-profit, educational institute. In 1998, a site for an academy was purchased in Hayward, California. During the last four years, the site has been fully renovated and now serves as Zaytuna Academy. Zaytuna Institute has held several conferences bringing several leading scholars from various parts of the globe to participate. Several intensive programs have been completed as well as ongoing courses in the Bay Area.

- Zamzam Academy ZamZam Academy was established in 2003 to help disseminate knowledge of the Islamic Sciences (such as Aqeedah, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Tafseer, and Hadith) in North America.Currently, all classes are either taught in the Islamic Center of Santa Barbara in California, where Mufti Abdur-Rahman is the Imam or using online tools. Audio files of the courses are available online (via ZamZamAcademy.com) for those who are unable to attend in person or are unable to attend the online classes during their meeting times.

Treating ignorance as the root cause of strains between peoples and cultures, Al-Asr seeks to bridge the gaps in our community with knowledge. Attaining understanding in the religious sciences is best achieved when one learns at the hands of those who have studied with scholars, whose qualifications are traced through a chain of transmission all the way back to our liege lord Muhammad peace and blessings be upon Him.
